Town people would like to know how to provide public input into an employee's annual performance review. Additionally, the Town People would like to know what performance factors are considered for town council members that determine adequate or substandard performance. Councilperson Grim has been costing the town loss of funds performing activities outside her duties such as photographing the police for undisclosed reasons. She has also leveled multiple unfounded allegations against other town employees and is a disruption in general to the operations of Purcellville. Since the council serves at the will of the people, the town council should allow public comment on a council members performance as part of their annual review process, as simple web based form could be used as input, rating performance on a scale of 1 - 5.

Who does she think she is, some sort of quality control expert or operational efficiency professional? Hardly. She is an agent provocateur doing more things to harm our lovely parks and recreation initiatives than helping them. She needs to go.

The lack of backbone of the Purcellville Town Council and Mayor is mind numbingly obvious. Councilperson Grims warrantless and baseless claims that Lohr threatened her are the reason why Councilperson Grim went to the State Police. They did nothing. How she cajoled the remaining sheep on the Town Council into going along with her ploy is unfathomable. The end result is a good experienced Town Manager was run out of town by an inexperienced and unethical person. Everyone else was snookered and strong armed to follow suit. It makes you wonder what she has on everyone else that they would blindly go along?
This week was a sad week for Purcellville, and the residents should demand a recall of all sitting Town Council members.

Information about the drinking water fluoridation therapy program.
1) A concentration of .7ppm is not a dosage so how many liters of water should a person drink per day? Do age, size or any medical conditions matter?
2) Should I be concerned that the Sodium Fluoride that is put in the drinking water is labeled toxic?
3) Who exactly is responsible for monitoring the administration of the medication. Are any licensed physicians involved?
4) Why does the sodium fluoride medicine that The Town purchases come from China? Shouldn't we purchase medication that is made in the USA?
5) Is this practice approved by the FDA?
6) If adults or children show signs of skeletal fluorosis should they reduce the amount of Purcellville water they are ingesting?

Given that this is a website and folks using it are already online, it would be great to put online civic engagement options front and center on the website (featured prominently in an easy to find location...even on the front page of the website). That would be the best way to encourage citizens who are already visiting the website and participating online to engage further by answering POLCO online polling questions and/or providing creative ideas for discussion.

I urge the Town Council to reconsider the proposed cuts to the Police Department budget. The citizens of Purcellville and the Town Council expect a community crime rate commensurate with the small town values as well as lifestyle we have all come to appreciate. Through significant budget cuts, those expectations will more than likely not be met. It is critically important in this day and age for law enforcement to be able to respond to emerging problems. By shifting law enforcement responsibility to the LSCO, Purcellville becomes one of the LSCO's responsibilities and not its primary responsibility. We lose the one to one, community policing. Appropriately funding a law enforcement program is expensive but a parallel can be drawn to personal healthcare insurance. When the day comes when you need it -- you are very happy that you have it.

Home based businesses are currently handicapped by the city's restriction stating that no signage may be displayed of any kind. Allowing home based businesses to display a small sign in front of their homes (for example, near their mailboxes) would allow home based businesses to take advantage of drive by traffic. It would cost the city nothing, but would increase revenue for those businesses, ultimately increasing revenue for the city. I propose that home based businesses be allowed to post a sign of at most 4 square feet on their own property. I further propose that the sign be allowed to include any of the following: the name of the business, services or products offered, a logo, phone number, email and website.
