PURCELLVILLE POLICE RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY FOR
PURCELLVILLE, Va. November 13, 2023 — The Purcellville Police Department is pleased to invite the public to our official ribbon cutting ceremony for our newly renovated station on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., located at 125 Hirst Road, Suite 7A, Purcellville, Virginia. Light refreshments will be served, with community members invited to view the expanded lobby and community room. Small groups of guided tours of the station will be available.
The Purcellville police station recently completed an extensive renovation and expansion project, with the administrative offices reopening to the public in October of 2023. Construction began in March 2023, which encompassed improvements to increase the safety and functionality of the facility. Enhancements included a secure lobby and ADA compliant public restroom, safe and secure interview/interrogation room, a family and victim friendly interview/conference room, a more efficient property and evidence area, hardened armory, additional lockers, an officer wellness area, and an increase in storage for equipment needs for both officers and administrative staff. The new construction added an additional 1,994 square footage to the facility, for a total of 6,312 square feet.
We thank the community for their patience during this construction project, and we welcome the opportunity to share a glimpse into our updated facility made possible through the support of town residents, Purcellville Town Council, and town staff.

“Purcellville-your small Town, where history and progress intersect and people prosper,” is an award-winning town of approximately 10,000 residents located in Loudoun County, approximately 50 miles west of Washington, DC. Having received the 2021 Virginia Municipal League Innovation Award for Environmental Sustainability and in years past, the prestigious Siemens Sustainability Award for Small Communities, Purcellville continues to be honored for innovation and green initiatives. The Town most recently received the Tree City USA Award for the 16th consecutive year. Once a stop along the W&OD rail line, which has been converted to a multi-use trail from Alexandria, VA to Purcellville, the Town has maintained its historic old-town feel through the restoration and maintenance of its many downtown structures, reflecting the Victorian architecture popular during the early 1900s. Today, Purcellville is the economic hub of western Loudoun County and a popular weekend destination for antiquing, equestrian activities, farmer’s markets, wineries, breweries, distilleries and restaurants.
