PURCELLVILLE, Va. August 15, 2023 – The Parks and Recreation Division and the Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board have initiated a grant program for local non-profits that host community-wide events in the Town of Purcellville. The total budget for this program is $5,000, and runs July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024 to coincide with the Town’s fiscal year. The deadline to apply for this fiscal year is October 13, 2023. Applications will be reviewed and applicants notified by the end of January 2024. Qualifying events must meet at least one of the following criteria: provide a recreational or entertainment experience that engages the Purcellville community and is relevant to the Purcellville area or benefits Purcellville residents; provide a heritage, historical, or cultural experience that engages the Purcellville community and is relevant to the Purcellville area, or benefits Purcellville residents; and/or draws tourists to the Town of Purcellville and is relevant to the Purcellville area.
To qualify for funding, organizations must:
- Have current IRS documentation
- Be located within the incorporated limits of the Town of Purcellville
- Serve Purcellville residents
- Show matching funds for the event/s proposed in the application
- Have a special event permit from the Town of Purcellville for the event for which funds are being requested or understand that a special event permit from the Town of Purcellville is required as a condition of receiving funds
Funding must be for qualifying events held in Purcellville during the specified one-year period, and only one grant will be available per non-profit per fiscal year (July – June). Grants must be applied for each year, and funding received in one year doesn’t guarantee that funding will be granted in subsequent years.
