PURCELLVILLE POLICE COLLECTING SCHOOL SUPPLIES
PURCELLVILLE, Va., June 29, 2023 — By the end of August, children will head back to the classroom, and unfortunately some will do so without the necessary supplies. The Purcellville Police Department is proud to support our local students by collecting these much-needed supplies, starting July 5, 2023 through August 9, 2023. Due to the police station currently undergoing renovations, the Purcellville Police Department will have a box in the lobby of the Purcellville Town Hall to collect donated school supplies. Donations can be dropped-off at the Town Hall located at 221 South Nursery Avenue, Purcellville, Monday- Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
If community members prefer to order donations online, we have created an Amazon Wish List which includes a sampling of items needed. Items can be ordered off the wish list and selected to be delivered directly to Purcellville Town Hall. The wish list can be viewed here or scan the QR code below.

Unfortunately, the Virginia sales tax free holiday weekend is not occurring this year, therefore, local students will need as much assistance as possible. Please see the items most needed for collection listed below. Only new items will be accepted.

“Purcellville-your small Town, where history and progress intersect and people prosper,” is an award-winning town of over 10,000 residents located in Loudoun County, approximately 50 miles west of Washington, DC. Having received the prestigious Siemens Sustainability Award for Small Communities, Purcellville continues to be honored for its green initiatives with most recently being the Tree City USA recipient for the 13th year. The Town was reaffirmed as a AAA rated community by S&P Global Ratings, the highest credit rating possible, and is ranked “Safest City” in Virginia in 2020. Once a stop along the W&OD rail line, which has been converted to a multi-use trail from Alexandria, VA to Purcellville, the Town has maintained its historic old-town feel through the restoration and maintenance of its many downtown structures, reflecting the Victorian architecture popular during the early 1900s. Today, Purcellville is the economic hub of western Loudoun County and a popular weekend destination for antiquing, equestrian activities, farmer’s markets, wineries, breweries, distilleries and restaurants.
