PURCELLVILLE POLICE APPREHEND JUVENILE SUSPECT WITH STOLEN FIREARM
PURCELLVILLE, Va., May 8, 2023 — On Saturday, May 6th, at approximately 10:22 p.m. the Purcellville Police Department received a report of a burglary in the 100 block of the 16th Street where at 9mm handgun was stolen from a residence. After a thorough investigation throughout the weekend by the Purcellville Police Department, officers identified a juvenile suspect. In collaboration with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Section, the juvenile suspect was taken into custody without incident outside of his residence this morning, May 8, 2023, in the 100 block of 16th street. The juvenile was in possession of the stolen handgun and ammunition. The juvenile is a Loudoun County Public School student and was apprehended prior to the start of school. After his apprehension, the investigation continued, and Purcellville officers believe the juvenile did not intend to go to school with the weapon. Detention orders will be obtained for felony larceny of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, and concealed weapon.
