An Evening outside with Neighbors and Law Enforcement
PURCELLVILLE, Va. July 20, 2022 —On August 2, 2022, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., people throughout Purcellville and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on their front porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement. Each year the Purcellville Police Department, and other local first responders caravan throughout town stopping in neighborhoods that are hosting block parties and cookouts. Public stops include the Giant parking lot at 5:30 pm for a free family picnic, the Purcellville Public Library at 6:30 pm for live music, games and activities, and the Loudoun Valley Community Center for a free Ice Cream Social at 8:00 pm.
Neighborhoods throughout Purcellville are invited to join neighbors across sixteen thousand communities, from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide; to participate in National Night Out (NNO). NNO is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our communities safer, more caring places to live and work. Together, we are making that happen.
If you would like your neighborhood to be added to the list of stops, please contact Ms. Christa Kermode at ckermode@purcellvilleva.gov or 540-338-7422, Monday-Friday at the PPD Administrative line, by Wednesday, July 27th. All Purcellville neighbors are welcome to join us at the three public stops along the National Night Out route.
National Night Out is nationally sponsored by NATW, Ring, Starbucks, Associa, FirstNet, Academy Sports & Outdoors, REELZ and co-sponsored locally by Purcellville Police Department.

“Purcellville-your small Town, where history and progress intersect and people prosper,” is an award-winning town of approximately 10,000 residents located in Loudoun County, approximately 50 miles west of Washington, DC. Having received the 2021 Virginia Municipal League Innovation Award for Environmental Sustainability and in years past, the prestigious Siemens Sustainability Award for Small Communities, Purcellville continues to be honored for innovation and green initiatives.
