[ARCHIVED] News Release - Town Hall Serving as Drop-Off Location for Donations for Ukrainian Refugees

PURCELLVILLE, Va., March 25, 2022 – According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, more than 3 million residents of Ukraine have fled their country due to the Russian invasion of their country, and more than 2 million have fled to neighboring country Poland. In the past, the residents and businesses of Purcellville have been extraordinarily generous to those in need – today the need is just as great.

 The following donations are being accepted:

  • New/gently used coats
  • New blankets
  • New pairs of sweat socks/heavy socks
  • New pairs of gloves

 The items will be shipped to Poland and distributed to those in need in both Poland and Ukraine. The campaign will end on April 15.

 Town Hall is open to collect donations Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. After hours and on weekends, donations may be left in the appropriate bins on the front porch of Town Hall. Please ensure your donations are in a plastic bag.
