[ARCHIVED] News Release - Celebrate the Holiday Season in Purcellville

Purcellville, VA, November 30, 2021 The Town of Purcellville is gearing up for a festive holiday season, and there are many ways for residents and visitors to participate. The celebration kicks off this Friday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m. with the annual Town Tree Lighting at Purcellville Town Hall. The following Saturday, December 11, will be full of activities including the Christmas in Purcellville Parade, a holiday market at Town Hall, activities at the Purcellville Train Station, and the self-guided holiday lights tour. Christmas Tree and Ornament Sales, Starting November 26, 2021
The Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company is selling Christmas trees and ornaments Wednesdays through Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. until sold out. Get more information at

Town Tree Lighting, Friday, December 3, 2021
 The Town Tree Lighting will be at Purcellville Town Hall (221 S. Nursery Ave) on Friday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m. We’ll enjoy caroling by Loudoun Valley High School’s 
VikeSings, a countdown to the lighting of the Town Tree, and a special visit from a well-known resident of the North Pole. 

Christmas in Purcellville Parade, Saturday, December 11, 2021 
 The annual Christmas in Purcellville parade will be held Saturday, December 11 starting at noon. The route is about 2.5 miles long, starting and ending at Blue Ridge Middle School. The parade route will start at Blue Ridge Middle School, turn left onto A Street, left onto Maple Avenue, left onto Main Street, left onto 20th Street, left on A street and conclude at Blue Ridge Middle School. 

Holiday Market, Saturday, December 11, 2021
 The holiday market will be at Purcellville Town Hall (221 S. Nursery Ave) on Saturday, December 11 from 1 to 8 p.m. In addition to shopping, enjoy activities including face painting, decorating a tile with the Purcellville Arts Council, and caroling with the Blue Ridge choir.

Bring your own camera and your wish list to take pictures with Santa from 2 to 5 p.m. inside the Purcellville Train Station located at 200 N 21st Street. 


Ornament Decorating, Saturday, December 11, 2021

Visit the Purcellville Train Station at 200 N 21st Street from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 11 to decorate an ornament that you can take home or put on tree inside the Purcellville Train Station. 


LEGO Train Display, Saturday, December 11, 2021

Visit the Purcellville Train Station at 200 N 21st Street from 2 to 5 p.m. to see the amazing LEGO train display, set up by the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area LEGO Train Club. 


Holiday Lights Tour, Map Available December 11, 2021
The Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is hosting the annual Holiday Lights Tour! This year's tour will be self-guided and the map will be available on Saturday, December 11 in the Events and Activities section of the Town Website and on the Facebook pages for the Town of Purcellville, Purcellville Parks and Recreation, and Christmas in Purcellville. 


Santa Rides Through Town, December 17 and 18, 2021

The Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company will be giving Santa a ride through Purcellville on December 17 and 18 at 6:00 p.m. Watch for details at


Be sure to do your holiday shopping at the Holiday Market and all of the great shops, stores, and boutiques in Purcellville. While you’re out and about, look for the hand-painted holiday ornaments that will be displayed throughout the Town. These ornaments were painted by local artists and represent various aspects of our community. They hang on light poles downtown, are placed in front of businesses, and line Main Street. Keep your eyes out for these great holiday decorations!
