[ARCHIVED] News Release - Town Council Seat Vacancy-Call for Residents Interested in Serving in an Interim. . .

PURCELLVILLE, Va. May 26, 2021 — On Monday, May 24, 2021, Council member Ted Greenly resigned his position on the Purcellville Town Council effective May 31, 2021. The Town extends its gratitude to Mr. Greenly for his service to the community through various town committees and Town Council. He has been a valuable member of Council, and served to make Purcellville a better community.

The Town Council is asking for interested members of the community who wish to serve in an interim capacity on Town Council until the upcoming special election in November 2021, to submit an application to the Town Clerk. The application form can be filled out and submitted online. It is strongly recommended that a letter of interest and resume also be submitted. Interested citizens must submit their materials by 5:00 PM on Thursday, June 3, 2021.   

The Town Council will review the applications, conduct interviews and make the appointment at a Town Council Meeting or Special Meeting, date to be determined. 

To serve on Town Council, a person must be a qualified voter in the Town of Purcellville.
