PURCELLVILLE, Va. May 24, 2021 — Beginning the week of June 7, 2021, the Town’s Contractor, Sagres Construction Corporation, will commence construction on the Hatcher Avenue Sidewalk Improvements project.  This project, funded by VDOT and NVTA, includes installation of sidewalk, curb ramps, curb and gutter, curb inlets and storm pipe along a portion of N. Hatcher Avenue from approximately Hirst Road to E. Cornwell Lane/E. Skyline Drive.  Additionally, the box culvert that passes South Fork Catoctin Creek underneath the roadway will be extended on the east side in order to accommodate the new sidewalk.

Work will generally occur Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.  The Contractor will utilize flagging operations and single lane closures during working hours.  Total construction time is expected to last 10-12 months.  This schedule may change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Residents are asked to be aware of work zones and alert for changes in vehicular and pedestrian traffic patterns in areas where work is being performed.
