PURCELLVILLE, Va., June 11, 2020 — Attached is the Town of Purcellville Weekly Coronavirus Update. Governor Northam’s recently amended Executive Order 65 allows Purcellville, and the rest of Northern Virginia, to begin Phase Two of reopening, tomorrow, Friday, June 12, 2020. Some highlights of Executive Order 65 include allowing for 50% capacity of indoor dining at restaurants, 30% occupancy of indoor fitness facilities, reopening of pools for exercise (with restrictions) , and public and private indoor gatherings of up to 50 individuals. Please refer to the full text of Order 65 as well as the specific Business Sector guidelines for questions. As a reminder, the Governor previously announced a Public Health Order under Executive Order 63, directing all persons to wear a face covering while indoors in public spaces. There are some exceptions. However, the Town strongly requests all residents and visitors to follow the face covering requirement to help keep everyone safe.
Restaurant owners who are interested in adding or expanding their outdoor dining options may complete an application, and return it to the Department of Engineering, Planning & Development for review and approval (outdoor_dining@purcellvilleva.gov).
In addition, bulk trash item collection services have resumed as of June 3rd. Residents are reminded to please contact the Town Office at 540-338-7421 to schedule a special collection 48 hours in advance. For further details, please refer to the list of eligible items for special pick up.
Loudoun County is allocating $2 million for eligible nonprofit and faith-based organizations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic under the Commonwealth of Virginia from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The Town of Purcellville would like to remind our local nonprofits and faith-based organizations that are eligible to apply for a grant that applications will be available online June 15th at www.loudoun.gov/GrantOpportunities. The deadline to apply is 5:00 p.m., June 19, 2020.
