[ARCHIVED] News Release - Arts Council Announces Artwork Exhibit by Dave Levinson and Meet-the-Artist Reception

PURCELLVILLE, VA, February 6, 2020—The Purcellville Arts Council is pleased to feature landscape photography by Dave Levinson from January through March, 2020 in Purcellville’s Town Hall. A Meet-The-Artist reception will be held at Town Hall (221 South Nursery Avenue) on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The public is welcome to join Mr. Levinson and the Purcellville Arts Council for an evening of art, discussion, and light refreshments.  The show may otherwise be seen according to regular Town Hall office hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except holidays).

As a resident of Loudoun County since 1997, Dave explores Loudoun County seeking the natural beauty it has to offer. He shares discoveries and hikes through photography. Preservation serves as a backdrop for his inspiration. His passion for the outdoors, love for the county, hiking and exploration serves as a canvas for the chosen medium, photography. Dave’s work has been shown in galleries, museums, libraries and government offices all over northern Virginia. His pieces can be found in businesses and homes across the county, and the state. Notable accomplishments include several photos appearing in the Lure of Loudoun hardcover book, the cover photo of the 2008-2009 Loudoun and Fauquier Verizon Yellow Pages phone book and a permanent 2019 photographic installation at Magnolia’s at the Mill restaurant. He has licensed several of his photographs to Lululemon, which now appear at their Mosaic Merrifield location in Fairfax. He has displayed his work in more than fifty shows over the years. You can visit to see more of his work. Dave is also the founder and designer at Wicked Design, a website and graphic design company; a founding partner at the Purcellville Art Gallery, and currently serves on the board of Franklin Park Arts Center. He is a former board member of the Growing Stage Theater, the Purcellville Art Council, and the Arts For All organizations.

The first floor corridors of Town Hall have a gallery-caliber hanging system which creates and opportunity for local artists to exhibit their work.  Art exhibitions in Town Hall ensure that all members of the public have access to art.  The Purcellville Arts Council is accepting submissions for future shows.  All artwork is decided upon for suitability by an outside jury.  Please send inquiries to the Town of Purcellville, attention:  Arts Council at
