[ARCHIVED] News Release - Town of Purcellville Participates in "Toys for Tots" Campaign

PURCELLVILLE, Va., November 6, 2019 - The Town of Purcellville is helping to bring the joy of Christmas to less fortunate children for the holiday season through donations to “Toys for Tots”.  The Town has set up donation boxes to collect new, unwrapped toys at three locations around Town:

  • Purcellville Town Hall, 221 S. Nursery Ave.-Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.
  • Purcellville Police Department, 125 E Hirst Rd. Unit 7-Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.
  • Bush Tabernacle, 250 S Nursery Ave.-Saturdays and Sundays 11am to 7pm.

Donations will be collected through December 9th.

Toys for Tots, a 70-year national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, provides happiness and hope to disadvantaged children during each Christmas holiday season. The toys, books and other gifts collected and distributed by the Marines offer these children recognition, confidence and a positive memory for a lifetime. It is such experiences that help children become responsible citizens and caring members of their community. Last year the Marine Corps fulfilled the holiday hopes and dreams of 7 million less fortunate children in 792 communities nationwide. Since 1947 over 244 million children have been assisted.
