08/31/2019 8:08 p.m. 100 N. 23rd Street DUI
An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding and upon contact with the driver noticed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage about his person. The driver failed a battery of field sobriety tests.
Arrested was: Vincent Rubino, 39, of Fort Lauderdale, FL
09/01/2019 12:35 a.m. 200 Block W. Main Street DUI/Refusal
Officers on patrol observed a vehicle stopped at a light with its driver apparently asleep at the wheel. The driver awoke, moved the vehicle and committed several violations and indices of impaired driving. The officers stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, noting an odor of alcoholic beverage about him. The driver failed a battery of field sobriety tests
Arrested was Ryan Foley, 39, of Great Falls, Virginia
9/02/2019 4:41 p.m. 17000 Block of Pickwick Drive Domestic Dispute
Officers were dispatched for a report of disorderly conduct. Upon arrival, they discovered that the intoxicated owner of a residence broke a garage window with a hammer. This displeased the spouse who called the police. No physical altercation took place and the parties separated for the evening.
09/04/2019 8:32 p.m. 341 E. Main Hit and Run/DUI
Officers responded for a hit and run accident and learned that a witness followed the suspect vehicle to the area of Main and 20th Street. Medics on the scene reported that the subject, who exhibited signs of intoxication, was being transported to INOVA hospital for the treatment of injuries sustained in the accident. The subject admitted that he had been drinking and involved in an accident. He refused to submit to a breath or blood test and was charged with DUI and Refusal.
Arrested was Ronald Sutton Jr., 59, of Fairfax, VA
09/04/19 12:04 p.m. 341 Maple Avenue On-Line Fraud
A subject reported that on August 19, 2019, she received an e-mail that she believed was from a fellow employee requesting that she update his direct deposit information. She complied, but on August 29th, the employee reported that his paycheck had not been deposited. A check with the bank revealed that the employee did not request this action and that the money was diverted. The investigation is on-going.
