“Purcellville Celebrates America” has been selected as the theme for the 2019 parade. The top three patriotic entries will receive a ribbon and a banner to display throughout the parade. Winners will be chosen by the Independence Day Parade judges. Again this year, The Purcellville Gazette will hand off the "Liberty Cup" which is currently in the possession of the 2018 top winning entry, Vintage Magnolia, to the 2019 winner.
The parade route starts on Orchard Avenue, turns right onto Main Street, followed by a left onto Maple Avenue, and concludes at Loudoun Valley High School. The parade route will be closed to through traffic from approximately 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. As a convenience for families with small children or those with sensitive hearing, a “quiet zone” will be designated on Main Street along the parade route.
