Spring Prescription Drug Take Back

PURCELLVILLE, Va. April 19, 2019 - On Saturday, April 27, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. the Town of Purcellville-Police Department will once again participate in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s joint drug take-back event.  The prescription drug drop off location for the Town will be at the Purcellville Police Department, located at 125 Hirst Road, Suite 7-A, Purcellville. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

The drug take-back event provides an opportunity for a safe and convenient way for individuals to dispose of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.  As our country fights the opioid epidemic, this drug take back event allows people across America to clean out their medicine cabinets and dispose of all prescription drugs no longer needed. By doing this it prevents these drugs from getting into the wrong hands where they may be abused and support a drug addiction.  Drugs that are stored in homes can be stolen, abused by family members and visitors, to include children.

The DEA take back day is nationwide.  For more information about the disposal of prescription drugs or about Take Back Day events and locations, go to www.DEATakeBack.com.

In addition to this event, there are drug collection locations at four Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office facilities, including the Western Loudoun Sheriff’s Station at 47 W. Loudoun Street, Round Hill, VA. Unwanted drugs can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Town of Purcellville, Virginia
