PURCELLVILLE, Va. March 21, 2019 — Beginning the week of March 25, 2019, the Town’s Contractor, Arthur Construction Company, Inc., will begin work on the Main Street & Maple Avenue Intersection Improvements project. Construction will include the installation of the missing segment of sidewalk from the Main Street & Maple Avenue intersection to the McDonald’s restaurant; the reconstruction of the shared entrance on Maple Avenue to the Wells Fargo and McDonald’s; the installation of a mid-block pedestrian crossing at 550 East Main Street and Purcellville Shopping Center; and the reconstruction of the shared entrance into the businesses at 550 and 600 East Main Street. The work will generally occur between the hours of 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday. During the construction, the roadway will remain open with temporary lane closures during working hours. Total construction time is anticipated to take approximately 1-2 months. In case of inclement weather or unforeseen events, this schedule may change.
Please be aware of work zones and be alert for changes in vehicular and pedestrian traffic patterns in areas where work is being performed.
