PURCELLVILLE, VA December 20, 2018 — The Town of Purcellville is pleased to announce that Mayor Kwasi Fraser has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2019 Transportation and Infrastructure Services (TIS) federal advocacy committee. This committee has the lead responsibility for developing NLC’s federal policy positions on issues involving transportation, including planning, funding, safety and security of public transit, streets and highways, aviation, railroads and ports. The appointment was announced by NLC President Karen Freeman-Wilson, mayor of Gary, Indiana.
“I am honored to be appointed to the Transportation and Infrastructure Services federal advocacy committee. I look forward to collaborating with fellow committee members to identify and to advance innovative and effective solutions for our local, regional, and national transportation and infrastructure challenges,” Mayor Kwasi Fraser stated.
As a committee member, Fraser will play a key role in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocate on behalf of America’s cities and towns before Congress, with the administration and at home.

The leadership of this year’s committee will consist of Chair James McDonald, Councilmember, Pinecrest, Florida, Vice Chair Glenn Otto, Councilmember, Huber Heights, Ohio, and Vice Chair Kate Kruller, Councilmember, Tukwila, Washington.
