PURCELLVILLE, VA—December 14, 2018 — Due to the weather forecast and in the interest of the safety to participants and attendees, the Town of Purcellville is canceling the Christmas in Purcellville parade and is in the process of evaluating whether to postpone it to Saturday, December 22 – additional information is forthcoming.
All other holiday festivities planned for this weekend will continue as planned. Get in the holiday spirit and join us for the following:
Friday, December 14
- Holiday Lights Tours, 6 to 9 p.m. — Ride a bus to tour some of the best holiday lights in Town! Get your free tickets at Town Hall and enjoy treats and activities while you wait inside for your tour. Tickets are free and will be handed out an hour before each tour (i.e. tickets for the 6 p.m. tour will be handed out at 5 p.m.; tickets for the 7 p.m. tour will be handed out at 6 p.m.). Tickets are available on a first come first served basis with 64 tickets per tour. The tours are hosted by the Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and sponsored by the Sengpiehl Insurance Group, Discover Purcellville, and Giant.
Saturday, December 15
- Ornament Workshop at the historic Purcellville Train Station, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Come make holiday ornaments at the Train Station located at 200 N. 21st Street. The workshop is hosted by the Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
- Pictures with Santa at the Purcellville Train Station, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Visit Santa at the Train Station! Bring your own camera. He will also visit the Tabernacle from 4 to 6 p.m.
- Festivities at the historic Bush Tabernacle, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. – Join us at the Bush Tabernacle, 250 S. Nursery Ave. for the Legoland train display, live performances, music, treats, and activities including a visit from Santa from 4 to 6 p.m., a holiday movie at 7 p.m., free roller skating until 10 p.m.
Sunday, December 16

Tickets are free and will be handed out an hour before each tour (i.e. tickets for the 5 p.m. tour will be handed out at 4 p.m.; tickets for the 6 p.m. tour will be handed out at 5 p.m.). Tickets are available on a first come first served basis with 64 tickets per tour. The tours are hosted by the Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and sponsored by the Sengpiehl Insurance Group, Discover Purcellville, and Giant.
