[ARCHIVED] News Release - Purcellville Artisan Tour-Saturday, November 3, 2018

PURCELLVILLE, VA, VA October 12, 2018—Local artisans will put out the welcome mat on Saturday, November 3, 2018 for their first annual Purcellville Artisans Tour, co-sponsored by the Purcellville Arts Council and the Franklin Park Arts Center. Members of the Loudoun County Artisan Trail who are located in Purcellville will open their studios, art-related venues, agri-artisan businesses as well as Points of Interest spots from 10:00AM – 5:00PM for demonstrations, tours and pre-holiday sales. The Purcellville Arts Council will sponsor a Trail members’ art exhibition in the Train Station and, as a Point of Interest destination on the Trail, Town Hall will be open so that visitors may see the current art exhibition as well as enjoy refreshments.

Visitors on the tour will find live music, special offers, art demonstrations, and artwork for sale. The Purcellville Train Station will also be open, hosting two guest artists. Purcellville Artisan Tour maps and brochures will be available at Town Hall, Franklin Park Arts Center and at Belly Love Brewing Co, 868 Estate Vineyards, North Gate Vineyard, Old 690 Brewing Co, Station Stitchers and Stone House Meadery. There are 16 artisan sites on the tour including six studios featuring artwork, sculpture, jewelry and ceramics created by 11 artists. In addition, there are six agri-artisans that will feature lavender products, wine, beer and mead.

The Loudoun County Artisan Trail officially launched in September 2017 with the release of the map featuring over 135 sites and its slogan, Eat. Drink. Art. The Artisans Center of Virginia worked with a core group of Loudoun County art organizations, economic development committees and other art councils to form one of many connected trails throughout the state that feature artisans and oyster trails. Artists’ studios, agri-artisan farms, breweries, wineries, restaurants and points of interest are all located on the county-wide trail. This will be the first open door tour by Purcellville members of the Loudoun County Artisan Trail.
