[ARCHIVED] News Release - Main Street Paving

PURCELLVILLE, Va. JULY 31, 2018— The Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) contractor, Superior Paving, will be milling and paving on Main Street. The work will be performed .12 miles west of 32nd Street along Main Street and be completed .19 miles west of Berlin Turnpike. Work will be performed August 1st thru August 24th during the hours of 9 pm until 5 am, Sunday through Friday nights, weather permitting.

To prepare for the milling and paving, local residents are asked to remove their vehicles, basketball hoops, trash cans, and other personal property from the streets the night of Monday, July 31. To conduct the milling and paving operations, the contractor will be utilizing flagging operations and have alternating single lanes of traffic. Flagging and alternating single lanes of traffic will be occurring between 9 pm and 5 am.

Local residents are asked to be aware of work zones, drive through with caution, watch for turning or stopping vehicles, entering and exiting construction traffic, and to be alert for changes in traffic patterns in areas where the paving is being performed.
