PURCELLVILLE, Va. July 27, 2018 — On Thursday July 26, 2018 at 4:30 PM, the town celebrated the distinguished career of Lt. Joseph Schroeck. Lt. Schroeck completes 18 years of service to the Town of Purcellville on Friday July 27, 2018.
In March of 2000, Lt. Schroeck began his service in Purcellville. Over the years, he has been committed to helping ensure shifts were covered, events were handled, and that the residents of Purcellville were protected. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, Joe Schroeck, started his law enforcement career 34 years ago with the Town of Herndon Police Department. After working 16 years with the Town of Herndon, Joe joined the Purcellville Police Department in March of 2000. For 18 years, Joe has commuted over 3 hours from Delaware to serve the residents of this small town that he feels so passionately about. He has served in every rank from Patrol Officer to Acting Chief of Police (twice). We will greatly miss his steady demeanor, sense of humor, and endless optimism.
In honor of his service, the town hosted a Retirement Ceremony on July 26, 2018. Visit the Purcellville Police Department Facebook Page to view the pictures.
