Purcellville, VA., May 16, 2018 – The Fifth Annual Purcellville Music & Arts Festival will be held rain or shine this Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Fireman’s Field, 250 South Nursery Ave. This free, family-friendly event, held on the grounds of Dillon’s Woods and inside the Bush Tabernacle, features live music, an art exhibit, children’s activities, a live animal show, workshops, arts and crafts, as well as local food, beer, and wine. Multiple stages will offer day-long entertainment coordinated by the Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, including main stage headliners, The Virginia Hipnecks, Colin Thompson, The Darby Brothers Band, Juliana MacDowell, and IWOR. There will be fine art, artisan-crafted jewelry, hand-carved wooden items and glass art available for purchase. The Purcellville Art Council will transform the Historical Bush Tabernacle into the festival’s Art Hall where there will be at least 20 local artists along with art demonstrations, community art projects, live music, and information about local art organizations. The Purcellville Arts Council will also announce the recipient of the inaugural Jim “Doc” Wiley Leadership in the Arts Award at the festival. The 2018 Purcellville Music & Arts Festival, with Title Sponsor, Loudoun Valley Floors, is presented by The Town of Purcellville, Virginia, Play To Win, LLC, and Shaun Alexander Enterprises, Inc.
On the day of the festival, the Purcellville Business Association and the Purcellville Historical Society will be offering Trolley Tours that combine Purcellville History with present-day fun. Trolley Tours will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will run every 30 minutes. Departing from the parking lot of the Historic Bush Tabernacle, there will be five designated stops throughout Purcellville. Riders will enjoy opportunities to win special prizes and offers from participating businesses.
The 2018 Purcellville Music & Arts Festival will have a Kids Zone adjacent to the Historic Bush Tabernacle. This Kids Zone will include: moon bounce, face painters, henna artists, balloon artist, live critters and creatures, and delicious Italian ice and ice cream provided by JR’s New York Italian Ice and soft-serve.
