[ARCHIVED] News Release - 33rd and Country Club Drive Cut Through Traffic Pilot Program Update 04.19.18

PURCELLVILLE, Va. APRIL 19, 2018 — On April 12, the Town indicated that today, Thursday, April 19, 2018, the delineators on Glenmeade Circle between Ashleigh Road and Country Club Drive would be removed.  Please be advised that the Town Manager has made a unilateral decision to not take down the delineators until he completes the process of receiving advice and counsel from the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).  The Town Manager is in charge of administration and implementation of the Council’s direction to undertake a series of pilot projects to address cut-through traffic issues in the neighborhood.

To date, the Town Manager has completed field investigations, held meetings with the Town’s Public Works and Engineering staff, conferred with some of the TAC members by conference call, and met with representatives from both Catoctin Meadows and Country Club Drive. The Town Manager recommended the TAC to meeting this evening at 6:30 pm in the Town Hall Council Chambers. Following the completion of advice and counsel of the TAC members and input from the greater neighborhood, the Town Manager will make an administrative decision relative to the implementation of the next pilot program phase.

The agenda for the meeting this evening is attached.
