[ARCHIVED] News Release - Refuse and Recycling Collection for March 21, 2018

PURCELLVILLE, Va. March 20, 2018 — Although the current winter weather system is anticipated to continue, with the potential for a measurable amount of snow, at this time the collection of refuse and recycling for tomorrow, Wednesday, March 21, remains on schedule.

Roadway safety is the primary concern.  Collection will be suspended on any roads deemed unsafe either by American Disposal or the Town due to snow or ice.  If significant inclement weather completely prohibits safe collection, service will resume next Wednesday.  If collection is possible, depending upon the severity of the storm, potential delays in service could last well into the evening.

Please DO NOT place refuse or recycling containers in the street as they may interfere with or be damaged by snow plowing operations.

The Town will provide updated information on the website www.purcellvilleva.gov regarding collection as soon as it becomes available.  You may also visit American Disposal’s website at www.americandisposal.com/inclement-weather for service updates.
