Full Implementation of
33Rd Street/Country Club Drive/Glenmeade Circle
30 Day Traffic Pilot Delayed
PURCELLVILLE, Va. February 19, 2018 — Full implementation of the Town of Purcellville’s four (4) week pilot program to reduce and redirect traffic through the Country Club Drive/Catoctin Meadows neighborhood has been delayed until the Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office completes review of an application for a Fire Code modification and public safety and fire and emergency medical service providers are notified of traffic pattern changes in the neighborhood by the County. While the placement of delineators, or temporary traffic diversion devices, near the eastern intersection of Glenmeade Circle and Country Club Drive allows for the delineators to be breached in extreme situations by emergency services vehicles, appropriate notification is necessary to ensure public safety providers are aware of the changes in traffic patterns initiated by the Town’s pilot program. In the absence of approval of the Code modification and until the County review process is complete, the Town will be initiating temporary measures in accordance with the approved pilot program utilizing Town Public Works and Police personnel to redirect traffic during morning and afternoon peak traffic periods, as identified by independently collected traffic data.
