[ARCHIVED] News Release - Cabin Fever Film Festival January 19-20, 2018

PURCELLVILLE, Va. January 5, 2018— Quiet on the set! The first annual Cabin Fever Film Festival sponsored by Franklin Park Visual and Performing Arts Center and Town of Purcellville Arts Council is announcing their schedule of films. The first annual Purcellville Cabin Fever Film Festival kicks off with a screening and reception on Friday, January 19 at 7:00PM at the Franklin Park Visual and Performing Arts Center. The film entitled “THE SCREENWRITERS” was submitted by Elizabeth Stinnette from Purcellville, VA. Directly following the screening, Stinnette and others who worked on the film will take questions from the audience and then all are invited to a catered reception in the lobby. Tickets to the opening night film, Q&A session, and reception are $8/person.

The festival continues on Saturday, January 20 beginning at 10:00AM with a showing of the documentary “NICHOLS: THE LAST HARDWARE STORE” submitted by Sarah Huntington from Lincoln, VA. Huntington and others who worked on this documentary will discuss the process for making a documentary film. After a short break for coffee and pastries, audiences will view a block of local student films. These shorts are “TEO AND JAKE PLAY CHESS” submitted by Michael Chirillo “EXPLORING COROLLA” submitted by Maddy Wade “THE GHOULIE GIRLS: Summoning Charles Dickens” submitted by Maddy Wade. Tickets for Saturday screenings are $5/person. Film Festival tickets may be purchased at the door on Friday evening or Saturday morning at Franklin Park Arts Center, 36441 Blueridge View Lane, Purcellville, VA 20132. Tickets for Friday evening screening and reception are $8/person. Tickets for Saturday screenings are $5/person. Cash, check or charge are accepted at the box office.
