PURCELLVILLE, Va. November 2, 2017 — Town of Purcellville Interim Town Manager, Alex Vanegas, has made the decision to terminate the employment relationship with Cynthia McAlister, Chief of Police, effective immediately Thursday, November 2, 2017. This decision was based on the results of a thorough investigation after several departmental employees brought forth allegations of the chief violating several Town policies, procedures, and Police Department General Orders. Lieutenant Joseph Schroeck has been appointed the Acting Chief of Police.
