[ARCHIVED] News Release - Town Council Seat Vacancy-Call for Residents Interested in Serving-REVISED

PURCELLVILLE, Va. October 25, 2017 — At the Town Council Meeting on October 24, 2017, Council Member Kelli Grim formally resigned her position on Town Council, effective November 3. The Town extends its gratitude to Ms. Grim for her outstanding service to the community as a citizen and Town Council member.

The Town Council is asking for interested members of the community who wish to serve on Council for an interim period, to submit an application to the Town Clerk. Applications
can be completed and submitted online at http://www.purcellvilleva.gov/forms.aspx?FID=78.


Interested citizens must submit their application, letter of interest and resume by 5:00 pm on Monday, November 6, 2017, online, via email to Diana Hays, Town Clerk, at dhays@purcellvilleva.gov or in person at Town Hall, located at 221 S. Nursery Ave.

To serve on Town Council, a person must be a qualified voter in the Town of Purcellville.

The Town Council will review the applications at a Special Council Meeting on Monday, November 6, 2017. Public interviews with prospective candidates will be held at a Special Council Meeting prior to the November 14, 2017 regularly scheduled Town Council meeting. It is expected that the interim appointment will also take place at the November 14 meeting. The interim Council Member will take his or her seat at the December 12, 2017 meeting to serve the remainder of the existing term ending June 30, 2018.
