[ARCHIVED] News Release - Purcellville Arts Council Announces the First in a Series of Quarterly Art Lectures

PURCELLVILLE, VA – September 6, 2017 —The Purcellville Arts Council is proud to announce their first art lecture which will be held on Thursday, September 21st from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Purcellville Train Station. This lecture features Dave Levinson, a professional photographer and owner of Wicked Design ( The class will focus on effective marketing strategies for artists who seek to promote their work.  The lecture is free, and light refreshments will be served. This quarterly lecture series will address a variety of topics for emerging and experienced artists as well as for the general public.  Some ideas for future lectures include: getting started with oil painting; sketching; watercolor; photography workshops with specific topics like using color, taking photographs of nature, taking photos of people, etc.

The Purcellville Arts Council is a standing committee that supports visual and performing arts in the Town of Purcellville. The Purcellville Arts Council works to offer local artists more opportunities to share their art with the public while providing residents with a variety of ways to experience, enjoy, and learn about art.
