[ARCHIVED] News Flash - Thousands Enjoy 6th Annual Purcellville Wine and Food Festival

PURCELLVILLE, Va. (July 19, 2017) — On a beautiful summer day, nestled beneath the shade of the trees at historic Dillon’s Woods, more than 2,000 people came to enjoy the Purcellville Wine and Food Festival. With more than 30 vendors including 10 wineries, 8 food purveyors, 13 artisans, and 4 brewing companies, along with live music, a moonbounce, facepainting and glitter tattoos, a corn hole tournament, and the new Arts in the Garden feature, there was something for everyone.

The VIP section of the festival was hosted by Loudoun Farms, which filled each of the VIP tables with goods from local farms, artisans, and bakeries. These goods complimented the four bottles of local wine, souvenir glasses, tasting tickets, and wine totes they received as part of the VIP package. At the gate, those who purchased a general admission ticket received a souvenir wine glass and tasting tickets. In the festival, some of the organizations had raffles and activities; kids played catch, chased bubbles, and painted; artists shared their inspiration and talent with those who stopped by; people shopped at the pop-up booths set up on the grounds; people listened to live music; and most everyone enjoyed the food, wine, and beer featured at the festival. At least two people were there to celebrate their birthdays! It was a wonderful, fun-filled day for families, couples, and friends.

The Purcellville Wine and Food Festival is an annual event hosted by the Town of Purcellville. Thank you to the following companies and organizations that provided generous support for this year’s festival: Best Western, Browning Equipment, CrafTshirts, Dental Smiles, Dulles Greenway, Fidelity Investments, Harris Teeter, HeroHomes, Loudoun Cares, Loudoun Farms, Purcellville Arts Council, Sengpiehl Insurance Group, Valley Energy, and Visit Loudoun.
