Purcellville, VA. (May 9, 2017) – The fourth Annual Purcellville Music & Arts Festival will be held on Saturday, May 20, from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Fireman’s Field, 250 South Nursery Ave. This free, family-oriented event features live music, an art exhibit, children’s activities, a live animal show, workshops, arts and crafts, as well as local food, beer, and wine. Multiple stages will offer day-long entertainment including main stage headliners, The Paul Reed Smith Band, Harry Jay Smith and the Bling, Franklin Park Big Band, and Colin Thompson. Artisan-crafted jewelry, hand-carved wooden items, glass art, sterling silver works, and fine art will be available for purchase. Event goers of all ages are invited to participate in community art projects sponsored by the Purcellville Arts Council. The Art Show, exhibiting 20 local artists, will be showcased inside the Historic Bush Tabernacle adjacent to Fireman's Field. In addition, there will be art demonstrations, community art projects, information about local art organizations, live music, and a charity bake sale. New for 2017 is a children's art contest hosted by the Purcellville Arts Council. The winning designs for the "Summer in Purcellville" theme will be placed as banners on downtown Purcellville street lamps. The kid’s banner design contest will take place inside the Historic Bush Tabernacle.
On the day of the festival, the Community Stage Sponsor, the Purcellville Business Association, is partnering with the Purcellville Historical Society to offer trolley tours that combine Purcellville history with present day fun. The trolley will run every 30 minutes beginning at 10:30 a.m. Departing from the Historic Bush Tabernacle, there are five designated stops throughout Purcellville. Riders will enjoy opportunities to win special prizes and offers from participating businesses.
