[ARCHIVED] News Release - Town Wide Painting of Long Lines in Roadway

PURCELLVILLE, Va. May 3, 2017— On Thursday, May 4, 2017, the Town of Purcellville’s Contractor, R J Merkel, will be painting long lines on roadways throughout the Town. This includes painting double-yellow lines in the center of roads and white solid lines on the edge of travel lanes. The work will only occur where lane markings already exist and will include all or portions of the following Town-maintained roadways:

  • 32nd Street
  • Hirst Road
  • Maple Avenue
  • W.T. Druhan Blvd
  • Hatcher Avenue
  • 20th Street
  • 21st Street
  • Any other secondary street with long-line striping

The work is expected to last until Friday, May 5, 2017, weather permitting. Expect minimal delays in areas where the paint truck is working. Please follow all signage and contractor direction, and if lawful to pass the paint truck, please use caution when doing so. Residents are asked to be aware of work zones, drive with caution, watch for turning or stopping vehicles including construction equipment, and to be alert for changes in traffic patterns in areas where the long line painting is being performed.
