[ARCHIVED] News Release - Purcellville Initiates Survey of Local Businesses

PURCELLVILLE, Va. January 11, 2017— The Town of Purcellville’s Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) has launched a new Business Survey, intended to gauge the sentiment of local business owners in the Town. The Town Council asked EDAC to initiate this survey to get a sense of what is happening in Town and to solicit recommendations for improvements within the Town.

The Business Survey asks 18 brief questions, from the quality of Town services to amenities that would attract visitors to challenges that business owners face. The survey should take 5-10 minutes to complete. All business owners in the Town of Purcellville are asked to respond in order to help the Town Council make informed decisions to further enhance the business climate.

The EDAC has partnered with the DECA program at Loudoun Valley High School to help distribute and promote this business survey. Students from the DECA will be reaching out to a cross-section of business in Town in order to help gain responses. The students will also be analyzing the results from the survey and making recommendations to EDAC on responding to the input from business owners.

“The best way for us to understand the needs of business owners is to hear directly from them,” said Daniel Abramson, Chairman of EDAC. “This survey is one of a number of ways we are gaining input on the challenges that businesses face and ways to address those needs.”

Council Member Chris Bledsoe, the Town Council’s liaison to EDAC, added, “We value the input of our business community and look forward to hearing on ways we can improve Town services, support our business community, and help attract new businesses and visitors to Purcellville. Purcellville is a great, dynamic market for all types of businesses, and this Council and the EDAC are working hard to improve business opportunities.”

The business survey can be found at http://www.purcellvilleva.gov/bizsurvey and will be open for responses until January 31, 2017.
