[ARCHIVED] News Release - Maintenance Activities Affecting Public Roads

PURCELLVILLE, Va. September 30, 2016— The Town of Purcellville announces two maintenance activities the week of October 3rd that will affect public roadways.

First, On Monday, October 3, 2016, the Town of Purcellville’s Contractor Arbogast Lawn and Tree will be trimming trees along North Hatcher Avenue from Nichols Lane to the Route 7 bypass. They will also be working along the east bound lane of Hirst Road from Hatcher Avenue through the State Maintenance Sign.

Flagging and alternating single lanes of traffic will be occurring on these sections of North Hatcher Avenue and Hirst Road between 9:00am and 3:00pm. Local residents are asked to be aware of work zones, drive with caution, watch for turning or stopping vehicles including construction equipment, and to be alert for changes in traffic patterns in areas where the tree trimming is being performed.

Second, on Wednesday, Oct 5, 2016 the Town’s Contractor Dominion Paving will be making repairs/patching the asphalt roadway at 321 Loudoun Valley Drive from 9am to 3pm. Work will be done due to a recent installation of a sewer lateral. Residents are requested not to park on street during working hours. Flagging and alternating single lanes of traffic will be occurring on this section of Loudoun Valley Drive between 9:00am and 3:00pm. The work is only expected to last one day, weather permitting.

Local residents are asked to be aware of work zones, drive with caution, watch for turning or stopping vehicles including construction equipment, and to be alert for changes in traffic patterns in areas where the paving is being performed.
