[ARCHIVED] News Release - Sept. 11 Remembrance Ceremony

PURCELLVILLE, Va. August 30, 2016 — Residents of the Town of Purcellville are invited to the annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony. The Ceremony will begin at 1:30 PM on Sunday September 11, 2016 at the First Responders Monument near the Historic Bush Tabernacle located at 250 South Nursery Avenue in Purcellville. The First Responders Monument was dedicated in 2011. The steel beam on the top of the monument is a piece of Tower Two of the World Trade Center and the base of the monument is comprised of stone from a barn near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

In addition to Purcellville Mayor Fraser, Representatives from Loudoun County Fire & Rescue, Purcellville Police Department, Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company, and Purcellville Volunteer Rescue Squad will be in attendance to honor those that have given all in the service of others.

Please join us in honoring our local first responders and the memory of all those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
