The Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board hosted Pedal Purcellville on July 31, 2021! Pedal Purcellville is a fun, family-friendly bicycle ride and contest for the best decorated bikes. See photos from the event!
The ride started at 10 a.m. and riders were asked to arrive for check-in at 9 a.m. in the parking lot at 609 East Main Street (Bicycles and Coffee). All bikes decorated for the contest lined up for the judges who selected the top three winners. The winners led the ride and received prizes donated by Bicycles and Coffee and by Velo Classique.
The 1.8 mile route (see below) was designed for families. All riders started together at 10 a.m. and followed the route below from the parking lot at 609 East Main Street:
Turn right onto Main Street
Turn right onto 21st Street
Turn right onto the W&OD Trail
Turn right onto North Maple Avenue
Return to the parking lot of 609 East Main Street
Officers from the Purcellville Police Department were stationed along the route as well as in a vehicle following the line of riders. No roads were closed for the ride.
