Bring your family for the Purcellville Bike and Safety Day! From noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, come to the Purcellville Safety Center (500 N. Maple Ave) and enjoy the activities listed below.
Pedal Purcellville
- Pedal Purcellville is a family fun ride and bike decorating contest
- Prizes will be awarded for the top three winners of the bike decorating contest - decorate your bike to help celebrate the 100th birthday of the Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company!
- The decorating contest will begin at 1:00 p.m.
- The family-fun ride will start at 1:30 p.m.
- Participation in the Pedal Purcellville family fun ride and bicycle decorating contest requires advance registration.
- Apply online by May 18, 2023 to participate in the ride and/or the decorating contest!
Bike Safety Rodeo
- The Bike Safety Rodeo helps children learn and practice bicycle safety skills
- Activities include helmet fittings (free helmets will be given to those who do not have one), basic bicycle safety checks, and an on-bicycle safety obstacle course.
- Upon completion of each safety station, each child will receive an official “Bicycle License.”
Public Safety Day
- A celebration of both National Police Week and EMS Week with a fun day of exploration and learning.
- Activities include meet and greet with state, county, and local first responders; displays of police, fire, and rescue apparatus; demonstrations; activities; bouncy house; petting of therapy animals; and treats for children.
Purcellville Bike and Safety Day is jointly hosted by the Purcellville Police Department, the Town of Purcellville Parks and Recreation, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company, and the Purcellville Volunteer Rescue Squad.
