9/11 Remembrance Ceremony; held each year to remember the events of 9/11/2001 and to honor our local first responders.Books and Badges

Books & Badges program held throughout the year at the Purcellville Public Library on Tuesdays 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM. PPD has partners with Purcellville Public Library and other local agencies to provide a dynamic family story-time to community youth ages birth to five. Thank you to our local agency collaborates the Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company, Purcellville Volunteer Rescue Squad, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Loudoun County Fire & Rescue, Loudoun County Animal Services, and Loudoun County Fire Marshall’s Office.

CWC Logo.PNGCoffee with a Cop program held bi-monthly at various times & locations throughout town. A national initiative supported by the United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services; the program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a time! Purcellville police officers join community members in an informal, neutral space to meet each other, discuss community issues, build relationships, and of course share a cup of coffee or tea.


Drug Take Back events held twice a year in cooperation with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and law enforcement agencies across the region in a Prescription Drug “Take Back”. Residents can discard potentially dangerous, expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Homework Club - The Purcellville Police Department is honored to partner with the BetterALife non-profit organization to host a free weekly Homework Club on Tuesdays. Students are invited to come to the BetterALife food pantry located at 201 N. Maple Ave, Unit F in Purcellville from 4:30pm to 5:30pm on Tuesdays for assistance with their homework, play a few games, and enjoy a free meal together. Join Purcellville Police Officers and local high school student volunteers for free tutoring in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Homework Club will be held each week when Loudoun County Public Schools are in session.

National Night Out; an annual nationwide event to help build community-police partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie that takes place on the first Tuesday in August each year. The Purcellville Police Department honors this event each year with a caravan, of our local first responders, through town stopping in neighborhoods to meet the citizens we serve.


Bike logo 5b final (2)Purcellville Bike & Safety Day; in May of each year, is jointly hosted by the Purcellville Police Department, the Town of Purcellville Parks and Recreation, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company, and the Purcellville Volunteer Rescue Squad for a fun day of exploration and learning. We join events across the country celebrating both National Police Week and EMS week, along with Bike Safety Month. Activities include Pedal Purcellville bike ride, bike decorating contest, bike safety course, helmet fittings, meet & greet with area first responders and your local first responders, and large equipment displays from police, fire, and rescue.
