Purcellville's Green Expo: Hail to the Trail

Saturday, October 20, 2018

Hail to the Trail is the annual Purcellville Green Expo hosted by the Town’s Tree and Environmental Sustainability Committee. Held at the Chapman DeMary Trail, Hail to the Trail is free and open to the public, and is great for families, students, and scouts. About 20 local organizations participate to share information about nature and to lead hands-on activities about the environment. This year, the event will be Saturday, October 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. with guided nature walks, tree plantings, the Town’s annual Arbor Day celebration, live animals, plastic bag collection, live music, a study of creek creatures, nature art projects and games, displays, a tour of a Town water facility, energy activities, and more. The Chapman DeMary Trail is a 10-acre area considered to be the last stand of old-growth forest in Purcellville and is protected through a conservation easement held by the Town.
