News Release - Police Report

PURCELLVILLE, Va. March 17, 2017 - 

03/09/2017 – 03:07a.m 200 Blk. Misty Pond Terrace Suspicious Event

The complainant reported that the garage door to his house had unexpectedly gone up in the early morning hours. He contacted police and they checked the garage area but found no signs of forced entry to the residence or anything missing from the garage.

03/09/2017 – 11:30a.m. 100 Blk. N. 21st St. Credit Card Fraud

The complainant reported that an acquaintance had used her credit card without authorization. The incident is under investigation.

03/11/2017 – 2:00p.m. 100 Blk. W. Main St. Crisis Intervention Call

Police were called to the scene of an emotionally disturbed person. On police arrival, the person had calmed down and did not meet the criteria to be taken into custody for a mental health evaluation. The residents were instructed to call the police if they had future problems.

03/13/2017 – 02:26a.m. 37000 Blk. E. Richardson Ln. Suspicious Event

Police on patrol observed a security gate that was open and may have been damaged. The property was checked and nothing appeared to have been tampered with or missing. The business owner was contacted and is reviewing security footage to determine any criminal activity.

03/14/2017 – 02:07a.m. 100 Blk. N. 16th St. Domestic Violence

The victim reported that her boyfriend had assaulted her by striking her in the face. She had no signs of injury and did not require any medical attention. The boyfriend had left the scene prior to police arrival. The victim was advised what procedures to follow to pursue charges but she was reluctant to do so. The incident is under investigation.
